Calvin Barker's IMSAI
In 2008 a good friend of the museum passed away. He was a Professor Emeritus of the College of Engineering at the University of Texas Arlington. His family has donated much of his computer collection to us. This includes his IMSAI which he purchased new. He had built his own interface to the two 8" Pertec floppy drives and written his own drivers. This system is presently being refurbished. We will bring you more information as it nears completion.
This photograph shows Barker's IMSAI up and running CP/M. The laptop in the center is connected as a terminal to the IMSAI and is displaying a disk directory. The Pertec dual 8" drive unit is on the left with an Altair 8800b on top of it. The IMSAI system on the far right another unit that was used to read Barker's disks and create the new CP/M system image from his BIOS routines.
